If you are looking to visit, stay or invest in Dubai, then you have a wide choice when it comes to apartments in Dubai. The accessories that accompany these dwellings is also quite impressive, to say the least. Middle to high end apartments in Dubai typically have gym facilities and a swimming pool. Once in a while, you may encounter one with a squash court. The rooms are spacious and have ensuite bathrooms. Down the price scale, the amenities become fewer and bedrooms are less well-maintained and smaller. However, they will usually be above the minimum standards that you will find in other locations. A resident watchman is also provided and for more expensive buildings several security personnel with a 24-hour reception location is provided.

Apartments in Dubai are hard to come by. The large number of apartments completed in 2008 and 2009 however has made it a bit easier to find an apartment to rent. Now, Dubai has apartments of all styles, sizes and prices. In Dubai, you will find that it is normal to pay a full year’s rent in advance. It is normal to find couples sharing villas or apartments and this can be a common alternative if you find that an apartment is hard to come by. Sometimes, apartments in Dubai may be advertised as ‘unfurnished’. However this does not mean that they do not have the necessary white goods. These ‘unfurnished’ apartments come with cookers, possibly a fridge and a washing machine as well as a dishwasher. Therefore, do not let this description fool you. Apartments in Dubai that are labeled ‘furnished’ come fully furnished with furniture and with or without the above white goods. Older apartments or those that are less cheap are less likely to come with kitchen appliances and furniture.

If you are locating an apartment through a real estate agent, expect to pay 5 percent of the first year’s rent as the agent’s payment as well as another 5 percent as security deposit. A ‘council tax’ is also charged by the Dubai municipality and is about 5 percent of your annual rent. If this tax is not paid, you may find yourself without electricity and water. Apartments in Dubai can be located using classified advertisements of newspapers with the Gulf News containing large sections of rentals and apartments for sale. Craigslist has also set up a Dubai section where you can locate apartments in Dubai.
